Yesterday was the Drum Corps International's Southeastern Championship in Atlanta, GA.
The Blue Devils won first. Ew. They win every year and they honestly just do not impress me. This year was an amazing one, seeing as how the top 6 had very interesting and captivating shows, other than the BD!
I was going there to watch my favorite band, the Carolina Crown! Their show was entitled "Rachstar." It was really REALLY good! They had great forms and great well-known music! However, the Cadets have turned me and I am a fanatic Cadets fan now! The Cadets blew me away this year with their show "Between Angels and Demons!" That was probably one of the best shows I have ever seen, other than the Cavaliers show that night who did "XtrordinarY."
The Cadets had red uniforms for half the band (the demons) and white uniforms for the angels! The angels were so characterized and the demons just showed so much rage and organized chaos! I felt bad for liking the demons better than the angels! But, by the end of the show when the angels and demons fought a huge battle on field during the drum break, the demons had to bow down to the angels who had beaten them and the demons colorgaurd were now white. There were so many great effects and so many great forms! IT WAS AMAZING! I can't get over it and I'll probably be talking about it until next DCI!
Any comments or questions about the other bands? Ask! I'd love to give you my opinion or hear yours! :)
Love ya, mean it!
Peace out :)
